Milk Mustache Campaign
Advertising
Celebrity Endorsement
The longest running print campaign in advertising history
It all began with an idea to feature Bela Lugosi (aka Count Dracula) with a milk mustache for a Gannett Outdoor contest, and the rest is history…
Fun Fact:
The first print ad featured Naomi Campbell and the tagline ‘Milk, What a Surprise!’ But shortly after, MilkPEP replaced the tagline with Goodby and Silverstein’s hugely popular slogan, ‘Got Milk?’
Fun Fact:
Annie Leibovitz photographed more than 180 of the ads. There was no shortage of celebrities willing to participate in the campaign, but there was one small catch: All subjects had to be milk drinkers.
